What's New

A new Encoding Profile setting that lets you optimize your stream's bitrate for the platform you're targeting.

Two Profiles, One Choice

When setting up your stream quality, you now choose between:

YouTube Profile — High Quality

Follows Google's official recommended bitrates for live streaming. Higher bitrate means more detail, sharper motion, and better overall quality — ideal when YouTube is your primary or only destination.

Resolution Bitrate 4K 60fps 35,000 kbps 4K 30fps 30,000 kbps 1080p 60fps 12,000 kbps 1080p 30fps 10,000 kbps 720p 30fps 4,000 kbps

Standard Profile — Multi-Platform

Uses lower bitrates that are compatible with Twitch, Facebook, LinkedIn, and other platforms that have stricter ingest limits. You still get great quality, but the bitrate stays within the bounds that every platform accepts.

Resolution Bitrate 4K 60fps 20,000 kbps 4K 30fps 15,000 kbps 1080p 60fps 6,000 kbps 1080p 30fps 4,500 kbps 720p 30fps 3,000 kbps

When to Use Which

  • Streaming only to YouTube? Use the YouTube profile for maximum quality.

  • Multistreaming to multiple platforms? Use the Standard profile to ensure compatibility across all destinations.

  • Not sure? Standard works well everywhere. You can always switch profiles before starting a new stream.

Where to Find It

Open your stream's Quality Settings and you'll see the encoding profile selector at the top. The YouTube profile is selected by default for backward compatibility.
