An overlay template is designed before anyone knows which video it will play over. That made two things hard: seeing whether "show this in the last 15 seconds" actually lands where you want, and noticing when a template has picked up a mistake, such as two copies of the base media. Both are fixed in this update.

• Preview on a real video. Pick any video from your library and the editor shows the template applied to it, at its real length, with its real audio.

• A timeline that tells the truth. Every overlay is drawn where its "When to show" setting puts it. Drag a bar to change the timing.

• A visible base media. The base media is translucent so the layers under it stay visible, and a second copy is marked in red on the canvas and on the timeline.

What's New

There is a new item in your sidebar: AI Assistant. It is a chat that knows your workspace, on every plan, starting today.

Ask it the questions you would normally dig through three pages to answer:

• "What is running right now, and is everything healthy?"

• "When do my viewers actually watch? Should I reschedule anything?"

• "Help me reach 4,000 watch hours for YouTube monetization."

What's Better

When you're working with a long playlist or a full-day calendar, you often zoom out to see the whole picture, the entire day, the whole week, all the blocks at once.

At low zoom, short clips and short calendar blocks used to shrink down to single pixels. Hard to see, impossible to click, frustrating to edit.

The timeline now enforces a minimum width for every block, regardless of zoom. Short clips stay clickable, draggable, and editable even when you're looking at the entire day on one screen.

What's New

A Live Channel can now run as the background source for a stream, with a Live Studio show cutting in during scheduled or manual takeovers.

The Live Channel keeps playing the playlist behind the scenes. When the live show ends, the stream returns to the Live Channel content without a gap: no second stream URL, no audience confusion, no production scramble.

This is the missing piece for TV-style 24/7 channels with scheduled live programming.

What's New

You can now pause the recording mid-show and resume it without affecting the live broadcast.

The PAUSED badge appears on the canvas while recording is paused. The live stream continues to your destinations as normal. When you click Resume, recording picks up, the saved file is one continuous recording with the paused section omitted.

The Import videos dialog now accepts links from Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X (Twitter), Vimeo, Dailymotion, Twitch, Rumble, LinkedIn and Reddit, alongside YouTube. Paste any video, playlist, or profile link and playout.video discovers what's there, shows thumbnails and titles, and imports your selection in the best quality your plan allows.

TikTok's live ingest endpoints have evolved over the past year. We've updated our TikTok integration to match, refreshed URL patterns, better connection reliability, fewer "stream won't connect to TikTok" issues.

If you've been streaming to TikTok and occasionally seen the destination fail to start, this update addresses it.

What's New

The Now Playing overlay automatically displays the title of the currently playing video or audio track on your stream, updated in real time as content rotates.

Add it once. Forget it. The overlay tells viewers what they're watching, every minute, forever.

What's New

Two places now show how many people are watching your embedded stream, live:

• On the player: an optional "N watching" badge, the same social proof viewers expect from YouTube or Twitch, now on your own website

• In your dashboard: the Embed tab shows watching now next to the embed toggle, updating every few seconds while the stream is live

The badge is a per-embed setting (Show viewer count), off or on with one switch. The dashboard number is always there for you either way.

What's New

Streams embedded on your website now play with adaptive bitrate (ABR). Instead of sending one fixed quality to everyone, the stream is transcoded live into a ladder of qualities, and each viewer's player continuously picks the best rung their connection can carry.

You don't configure the ladder; you just get it. Create an embed and adaptive playback is the default.

What's New

Your channel no longer has to live only on other people's platforms. With the new Embed feature, any stream in a Business workspace gets a hosted player you can drop into any page:

Copy the snippet from the stream's Embed tab, paste it into your site, done. The same channel keeps multistreaming to YouTube, Twitch, and everywhere else; the embed is one more place it lives, except this one is yours.

What's New

One account can now hold multiple workspaces, and each workspace is its own world:

• Its own media library, streams, calendars, and overlays

• Its own team and permissions

• Its own plan and billing: each workspace subscribes separately, so a client's Business workspace and your own Creator workspace live side by side

Creating one takes a minute: open the workspace switcher in the sidebar, choose Create workspace, name it, pick a plan, and check out. You land in the new workspace ready to upload.

What's New

There's a new plan between Creator and Business: Channel, at $39/mo billed annually ($49 monthly). It's the plan for people who don't just want a stream that's live, they want a channel that's programmed.

Channel takes everything in Creator and adds broadcast automation:

• Calendar-run streams: your channel goes live when the schedule says so, not when you press a button

• Auto start and auto stop around your scheduled windows

• Scheduled playlist swaps and automated actions

• Recurring programming: daily, weekly, monthly blocks that run forever

What's New

We've rebuilt our plans from the ground up. The short version:

• Free is now a real plan. No trial clock, no card required. Build and run a branded stream for as long as you keep the account.

• Plans now map to what you do, not just video quality. Creator runs a 24/7 loop. Channel runs a programmed, calendar-driven channel. Business puts the stream on your own website.

• Annual pricing is here, and it's the headline price: Creator at $19/mo, Channel at $39/mo, Business at $119/mo when billed annually.

Green Screen Removal is now built into the Composition Editor.

Drop a video or image overlay onto your composition. Toggle on Green Screen Removal. The system keys out the green background automatically. What's left is your subject, ready to composite over any background.

No plugins. No external software. No special hardware on the source side beyond a green sheet and decent lighting.

You can now save a complete overlay design, logo, lower thirds, frame, Now Playing, every element of the Composition Editor, as a reusable Overlay Template.

Apply a template to a playlist and every video in the playlist plays with that overlay. Apply it to a calendar entry and that entry plays with that overlay. Build it once. Use it everywhere.

What's New

Right-click any block on the Calendar and choose Play now. Your live stream jumps to that block's content, immediately, without restarting.

It's the fastest way to override your schedule when something needs to go live right now.

What's Better

Streams are now significantly more resilient to mid-stream hiccups.

A handful of edge cases that used to cause stalls or drops, corrupted frames, brief network blips, momentary file access issues, now recover automatically, usually within a few seconds, without your viewers noticing.

The visible result: fewer "the stream went down" moments and faster recovery when something does go wrong.

What's Better

Transitions between videos in a playlist are now gapless.

The next item is loaded into memory while the current item is playing. By the time the current item ends, the next one is ready to start instantly, no buffering blink, no momentary frozen frame, no half-second stutter.

If you've been running 24/7 streams and noticed the occasional half-second blink between clips, this is the fix.

Streams can now auto-start before a calendar block begins and auto-stop after the last block ends.

If your show only happens Tuesday at 7pm, your stream only runs Tuesday at 7pm. No manual start. No manual stop. No remembering.

Live Studio now has a dedicated Record button alongside Go Live.

Click Record to capture your show, host, guests, layouts, screen shares, overlays, the whole thing, to your media library, without broadcasting to a single destination.

You can now bring RTMP sources (and WHIP) straight into Live Studio.

Click Add RTMP Source in the Sources panel, get a unique RTMP URL and stream key, and point any encoder at it, a hardware encoder rack at a venue, a smartphone with a streaming app, a drone, an IP camera, OBS on someone else's machine, anything that speaks RTMP.

Plan availability: RTMP & WHIP ingest into Live Studio is included on the Business and Enterprise plans. Browser (WebRTC) cameras and guest invites remain available on every plan.
