Import from Any Major Platform & Per-Video Overlay Variables
The import dialog now accepts Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X, Vimeo and Twitch links, and every video's metadata can drive overlay templates with variables like {{title}} and {{author}}.
What's New
The Import videos dialog (formerly YouTube Import) now accepts links from Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X (Twitter), Vimeo, Dailymotion, Twitch, Rumble, LinkedIn and Reddit, alongside YouTube. Paste any video, playlist, or profile link and playout.video discovers what's there, shows thumbnails and titles, and imports your selection in the best quality your plan allows.
Import from Any Major Platform
Feature | Detail |
|---|---|
One dialog, every platform | The same import flow handles all supported sites, no separate tools |
Playlists & profiles | Profile and playlist links list every video found so you can bulk-select |
Smart quality selection | Downloads honour your plan's resolution and frame-rate limits per site |
Clear errors | Unsupported sites and DRM-protected content surface friendly messages |
Per-Video Metadata, Editable
Every import captures the video's title, author, views, publish date, description and source link, now stored with the file and shown on its detail page in a new Metadata card, where you can correct any value. Uploaded files get the same card, so you can fill in metadata by hand.
You can also add up to three custom fields per video: an episode code, a sponsor name, a season label, anything you want to surface on stream.
Overlay Template Variables
Overlay templates can now reference the playing video's metadata with {{variables}}:
{{title}},{{author}},{{views}},{{publishDate}},{{duration}},{{site}},{{description}}Your custom fields by name, e.g.
{{episode}}
Build one lower third that says {{title}} — {{author}}, apply the template to your playlist, and every video renders with its own metadata. The Now Playing overlay picks up each video's real title automatically.
