Hit Record instead of Go Live. Capture a multi-guest, multi-layout show as a master file in your media library: without broadcasting to a single destination.

What's New

Live Studio now has a dedicated Record button alongside Go Live.

Click Record to capture your show, host, guests, layouts, screen shares, overlays, the whole thing, to your media library, without broadcasting to a single destination.

When you're ready to broadcast, click Go Live instead. Or run a recording-only session this week and a live one next week. Same workflow, same setup.

When to Use Record-Only

  • Podcast pre-records. Capture a polished, edited episode for distribution on Spotify or Apple Podcasts. No accidental "we're live" mistakes.

  • Rehearsals. Run a full dry-run with your guests, watch it back, refine your layouts and timing.

  • Internal content. Company all-hands, training, internal Q&A, recorded, not broadcast.

  • Asset capture. Generate b-roll or pickups using the same studio you use for live shows.

  • Sensitive interviews. Sometimes you want the interview, not the broadcast.

What You Get

  • A master recording in your media library, ready to download

  • All sources included, host, every guest, every layout switch

  • All overlays baked in, your branding, lower thirds, Now Playing

  • The full duration, captured as it happened

You can use the master file for anything: distribution, editing, clipping, archiving. Or keep it in your library and reuse it as a Live Channel rerun later.

How to Record

  1. Set up your Live Studio show as you normally would, sources, guests, layouts, branding

  2. In the toolbar, click Record (instead of Go Live)

  3. The REC badge appears on the canvas

  4. Run your show

  5. Click End Recording when finished

The master file appears in your media library within a minute of finishing.

Pause and Resume

You can pause recording mid-show by clicking Pause. The badge changes to PAUSED. Click Resume to pick up where you left off, the recording is one continuous file with no gaps.

For more on this, see Pausing and Resuming Recording While Live (coming soon).

Recording While Live

If you want to do both at once, broadcast live AND save a master, keep Record to Library turned on in your stream settings and click Go Live as normal. You get both outputs.

Try It

Open any Live Studio stream and look for the red Record button. For the full workflow, see How to Run Your First Live Show With Guests.
